As little girls my sister and I would always say to our mom, "what can we do now?" And she always had an answer from giving us catalogs to cut out people and switch head on them (now that's altered art!!) to ironing crayon chips between waxed paper to make stained glass windows. From her inspiration I went on to life of creating.
Mom would draw patterns on paper and would have us sit at the sewing machine and follow the lines. When she determined were staying close enough we were then able to sew.Fiber arts and felting grew from that hobby.
My mother is responsible for getting me into polymer clay and rock painting as well.
I have to give credit to my sister for the beading. How does one stand in a bead store and pick up and look at every bead in the store?
I have been involved in a direct sales company doing cooking classes for over 22 years. I guess that would make me a self-taught foodie!
